TikTok introduces an interface with landscape mode for Android tablets

Jan. 13 (Portaltic/EP) –

The application TikTok has introduced a new optimized and landscape interface, intended for use on large screens, which can be used on Android tablets and which has been advanced by Google’s own application store, Play Store.

The company has been testing this new display mode for a month, horizontally and on full screen, an option very similar to the one that already characterizes YouTube and that they have already tested. some selected users worldwide.

This would not be the first time that ByteDance, the company that owns this service, integrates features from other platforms into its own. Among them, those related to the maximum duration of the videos that can be created and uploaded to the platform.

Although in its beginnings it stood out for integrating videos in vertical format and of short duration, of a maximum of 15 seconds, over time has been expanding them: first to three minutes and, more recently, up to 10 minutes.

Its image format has also changed at this time, since the company has abandoned said verticality and has recently introduced the landscape format, as it has shared Play Store.

In the image, recovered by 9to5Google, the new landscape format places the navigation bar on the left side, where it now places the ‘Home’, ‘Friends’, ‘Messages’, ‘Profile’ and ‘Create’ buttons.

The video in question is placed in the center of the screen, while on the sides of the screen it appears blurred to create the desired horizontality. On the right, on the other hand, is the comments column.

As you remember from this portal, the landscape interface is not new, but is already available in foldable devices, like Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold. However, it should be available now for the rest of the Android tablets.
