The Mercosur Asean Chamber of Commerce (MAAC), chaired by Dr. Rodolfo Caffaro Kramer, was involved in the negotiations that resulted in the recent sale to Indonesia of 1,500,000 doses of Argentine-made foot-and-mouth disease vaccines. The objective of this purchase by Indonesia is to combat the outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease that it detected in May this yearafter being free of circulation of the disease since 1986.
The operation was carried out by the Veterinary Diagnostic Center (CDV), an entity of recognized international prestige founded by the veterinary doctor Susana Conigliaro, whose general manager is Juan Roo. It is one of the 5 Argentine companies in the sector that before the end of the year would be totaling an export of 7 million doses to the Southeast Asian country.
It should be noted that, thanks to the efforts in which the MAAC was involved, Argentina was selected as one of the 5 suppliers worldwide of Indonesia, for its quality and production technology.
This instance was reached after an evaluation process carried out by a delegation led by the ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia in Argentina, Niniek Kun Naryatie, in order to identify the companies with the best profile to take charge of the aforementioned export. , which is strategic for Indonesian animal production.

In view of the expanding international market, with the demand from Indonesia and other countries (today it exports to more than 30 worldwide), the CDV announced that it will allocate US$60 million for the construction of a third vaccine production plant, in the Pilar Industrial Park, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The company expects this new production unit to be active by 2025, with which it would increase its supply to 280 million more doses per year, of which 190 million correspond to bovine vaccines for the domestic and export markets.
This investment is related to a 10-year expansion plan that the laboratory has already launched, with a view to export growth and diversification of the market segments in which it participates. Vaccines will be produced there, mainly for cattle and also for sheep and goats, seeking to expand production capacity to supply the foreign market with more than 70 million doses.
