Three dead in Israeli bombings in Syria

MADRID 9 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –

At least three Syrians have been killed and eight more have been injured as a result of attacks by Israeli aircraft on several points in the Syrian provinces of Idlib and Aleppo.

Two of the deceased have died in a bombing on the Scientific Research Center of the Defense Laboratories and Warehouses near Al Safira, in the east of Aleppo province, reports the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, an organization based in London but with a wide network of informants in the Arab country.

The Observatory has highlighted that the Syrian anti-aircraft defenses have not responded to the Israeli attack, although without giving more details about it.

A third person has died in Saraqib, while six more people were injured in this second attack, according to the Observatory, which highlights that the places attacked were frequented by members of the Lebanese Shiite militia party Hezbollah.

The authorities have so far only confirmed “several soldiers injured” in several attacks on these regions by “Israeli enemy aircraft.”

“At around 0:45 a.m. (10:45 p.m. on Friday, Spanish peninsular time), the Israeli enemy launched an air attack from the southeast of Aleppo against several positions in the provinces of Aleppo and Idlib. There are several wounded soldiers and material damage,” he said. explained a military source cited by the official Syrian news agency, SANA.

The Israeli planes entered Syrian airspace through the US base at Al Tanf, near the border crossing between Syria, Jordan and Iraq, and entered the provinces of Dera and Suwaida, according to the Observatory. “The radars of the regime forces detected them and there was no response,” the Observatory highlighted.

According to the Observatory’s balance, 277 soldiers have died so far this year in Israeli attacks on Syrian soil, including 54 members of Hezbollah, 25 members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, 82 Syrian members of pro-Iran militias, 25 foreign pro-Iran militiamen and 62 Syrian military. It has also recorded 51 civilian deaths, including six minors.

Israeli forces have intensified their bombing of both blocks to contain threats on other fronts such as Lebanon, where a ground and air offensive against Hezbollah is underway.
