Three dead in helicopter crash on Russia's Kamchatka Peninsula

Three people have died, including the world junior biathlon champion, Igor Malinovski, this Sunday in a helicopter accident in the Russian peninsula of Kamchatka.

The Russian authorities have explained that the bodies of a pilot and two passengers have been found this Sunday at the accident site.

“The missing helicopter was found this Sunday south of the Uzon caldera. Unfortunately, none of the three people on board survived the accident,” the Russian Emergencies Ministry reported, as reported by TASS.


Junior biathlon world champion Igor Malinovskii was piloting the aircraft when the helicopter disappeared on Saturday.

The president of the International Biathlon Union (IBU), Olle Dahlin, has assured that the entire biathlon community will remember Malinovsky as a great athlete.
