June 13 (EUROPA PRESS) –

At least three children were injured on Monday by the explosion of a mine when they were playing in an agricultural area in the Afghan province of Nuristan (east), as confirmed by the authorities set up by the Taliban after taking control of Afghanistan in 2021.

The head of the provincial Information Department, Sameulhaq Bayan, specified that the incident took place in the town of Kamdish and pointed out that the explosive had been left in the area as a result of past fighting between the Army and the Taliban. .

The injured, whose identities and ages have not been released at the moment, have been transferred to a hospital in the city of Asad Abad, without any details about the seriousness of their condition, as reported by the Afghan news agency Jaama Press. .

Dozens of people have died or been injured in recent months due to the explosion of artifacts abandoned after the conflict, without the demining work having finished removing the danger, which would affect more than 600 square kilometers of the territory of the Central Asian country. .
