Radamel Falcao García was presented this Tuesday as a new Millonarios player in front of more than 30,000 people who arrived at the El Campín stadium in Bogotá, where they raised flags, sang and applauded the most talked-about signing of recent decades in Colombian football.

In an unprecedented evening for Colombian football, fans of the capital team went to the sports stadium to welcome the ‘Tiger’ and the rest of the players who will defend the blue and white colours of the Ambassadors.
Falcao came out onto the pitch accompanied by his wife, Lorelei Tarón, and his five children amid the jubilation of the public who began to applaud, shout and sing to the former Atlético de Madrid striker.

“On behalf of my family and mine, it is an unforgettable, exciting moment. I want to thank each and every one of you who came tonight.“, said ‘El Tigre’, visibly moved by the welcome he received from the public that practically filled the stands of the capital’s stadium.
The striker then put on the blue Millonarios shirt and greeted the public, the directors and all his teammates, while a fireworks and fire show accompanied the evening.

“It is the best fan base in the country” added Falcao, who responded when asked which team he supports: “Millionaires for life“.
There was also a drone show in the sky in which the Millonarios crest and Falcao’s shirt were projected and other club players such as the experienced David Mackalister Silva.
In addition to Falcao, the club’s other new signings were also presented at the squad presentation: goalkeeper Iván Arboleda; centre-back Sergio Mosquera; midfielders Félix Chapurrí, Jovani Welch and Juan José Ramírez, and forwards Daniel Mantilla, Jhon Córdoba and Kevin Palacios.

During the evening, Cartagena singer Alexy Hernández jumped onto the platform where the players were and sang the song ‘Viva Colombia, viva Falcao’ to the goal scorer, which became popular a decade ago for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
The day ended with a performance by the Argentine cumbia band Pies Chorroswho sang some of their hits such as ‘Qué calor’ and encouraged the public, especially the Comandos Azules fans.
Falcao returns to his country 24 years after making his debut, at just 13 years of age, in the Lanceros of the Second Division, and will fulfill his dream of playing for the team.ambassador“, the team of his dreams, after a successful international career.
The forward had successful spells at clubs such as River Plate, Porto, Atlético de Madrid, Monaco, Manchester United, Chelsea, Galatasaray and Rayo Vallecano, before joining Millonarios.
