Naoki Yoshida thinks that a remake of Final Fantasy IX It couldn’t come out in a single delivery
During an interview with the site video games (via IGN), Naoki Yoshida, producer of Final Fantasy XIV recognized the interest there is in a remake of Final Fantasy IX on the part of the fans, but he pointed out that if it were made it would be a very ambitious project in terms of extension since it is a big game: “I know that there are requests for a remake of Final Fantasy IXbut when you think about Final Fantasy IXit’s a high-volume game. When you think about all that size, I wonder if it’s possible to remake that into a single title. It’s difficult.”
It should be remembered that Naoki Yoshida, last June, denied rumors that he and his team are working on a remake of Final Fantasy IXso if this project is in development it would be in the hands of a different team considering that there are already creatives in charge of the third part of Final Fantasy VII, Kingdom Hearts IV and surely the new installment of Square Enix’s flagship franchise.
Precisely, the mention of Final Fantasy VII Remake It makes sense with Naoki Yoshida’s statements since it is thought that a project of that size would take the same path as the controversial remake that was divided into 3 titles and whose story was completed over a decade. This decision and model was not liked by some fans, although the developers tried, in the case of FF VIIthat each chapter has its conclusion as if it were a solo game waiting for a sequel.
What do you think about it? Do you like the idea that a remake of Final Fantasy IX Will it come out in several installments?
