A little over a year since its launch as a temporary exclusive for PlayStation 5, Final Fantasy XVI is set to debut on a new platform. However, this would not be the only interesting news regarding this installment, as an error revealed that it will probably arrive on PlayStation Plus.
Final Fantasy XVI could debut soon on PlayStation Plus
A few moments ago, the gaming celebrity on X “Wario64” reported the sudden appearance of Final Fantasy XVI on PlayStation Plus along with the legend that notifies the user that they can download and play this title since it is part of the service. Although it is an error, since it was impossible to start the download and there is no official announcement about it, it has been taken as a clue that it could soon arrive on Sony’s service. The reasons could be more than one with the Japanese company trying to reduce the impact of the loss of exclusivity.
First, next September 17th Final Fantasy XVI will be coming to PC after completing its period as a PS5 exclusive. In this case, Sony could take advantage of the renewed hype for the game by launching it on PlayStation Plus since the 3 levels of the service include the monthly games offered to subscribers, so this could be reflected in the number of users.
On the other hand, rumors that Final Fantasy XVI coming to Xbox are gaining momentum and recently Naoki Yoshida, producer of the game, acknowledged that he would like to see this title arrive on Microsoft consoles, although he reserved further statements on the matter.
Likewise, Square Enix has expressed its interest in making its catalog multiplatform, this after the lower than expected sales of Final Fantasy XVI and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.
