Russia’s atrocities since its invasion of the Ukraine in February have never ceased to stretch the capacity of amazement and horror. The largest have been discovered after the departure of the enemy, the case of Bucha, the case of Borodianka, among many others. The one that the world now knows happened in Kherson, liberated at the beginning of November: torture chambers for children.

Investigators sent by the Government of Volodimir Zelenskyultimately in charge of preparing a detailed report on the crimes committed and the extensive material damage, have found a cell where -they claim to have corroborated- the kidnapped minors were mistreated and subjected to inhuman psychological pressure.

has revealed it Dmytro LubinetsCommissioner for Human Rights of the Ukrainian Parliament, who has located that cell in one of the four torture centers used by the troops of Vladimir Putin to detain local military and civilians and interrogate in some cases to death. Images released by the Ukrainian army show the place.

Lubinets, who has already seen first-hand other prisoner confinement sites in previously recovered territories, affirms that what was found in Kherson is even worse: “In one of the chambers, ten in the region and four in the city, there was a separate room , a cell where children were locked up. Even the occupants called it that, ‘children’s cell'”.

“We have documented – adds the commissioner – that they did not give the children water and practically did not give them food. They used psychological pressure: they told them that their parents had abandoned them and that they would not return. (…) They were children who, eyes of the invaders, resisted”. According to Lubinets, a 14-year-old boy was detained and taken to this location for photographing damaged Russian military vehicles.
