The French authorities have launched a extensive police operation and a judicial investigation after the discovery this Tuesday of the bodies of three childrenapparently murdered and whose mother is being searched intensively in the southeast of the country.

The bodies of the children, aged 2, 11 and 13, were found by their father in a home in the Alpine town of Taningesvery close to the border with Switzerland.

The gendarmerie has deployed about sixty troops from various units, including a helicopter and high mountain agents, indicated the local station of the public network FranceBleu.

He added that the prosecutor’s office in the nearby city of Bonneville has launched a homicide investigation.
