They point out quality problems in the Meta Horizon Worlds app and lack of use by its developers

Oct. 7 (Portaltic/EP) –

Horizon Worldsthe immersive social experience with which Meta is building its metaverse, it has quality and performance issues, but the main concern is the lack of enthusiasm shown by those who are developing it.

On Tuesday, October 11, Meta will celebrate its event Connect, dedicated to virtual reality (VR) and its advances in the metaverse. The company’s executive director, Mark Zuckerberg, already announced that the company’s new VR helmet would be presented and the improvements that will be introduced in the Horizon Worlds ‘app’.

Horizon Worlds is an application aimed at social experiences in virtual reality, which since this summer is also available in Spain. With it, the company hopes to “see people explore and build immersive worlds.”

However, it seems to have quality and performance issuesas stated in a series of internal circulars Addressed to employees by Meta’s Metaverse Vice President Vishal Shah, accessed by The Verge.

Precisely, the image that accompanied the announcement of the arrival of the ‘app’ in Spain in August generated criticism given the poor quality that Zuckerberg’s avatar showed. Then, the CEO defended that “the graphics of Horizon are capable of much more, even in the helmets” and that this virtual platform was “improving very fast”, with updates that would be known in Connect.

From the internal circulars it is also extracted the little interest that those working on its development seem to have in Horizon Worlds. Shah himself acknowledges that many of them don’t spend as much time on Horizon. “Why is that? Why don’t we love the product we’ve built enough to use it all the time? The simple truth is, if we don’t love it, how can we expect our users to love it?” he wrote.

Meta spokeswoman Ashley Zandy told The Verge that the company “is confident that the metaverse is the future of computing and that it should be built around people.” And she added that they are “always making quality improvements and acting on feedback from creators in the community“.
