They manage to reach 8,000 MHz in a Core i9-13900K

A new overclock record has been broken, and curiously, it is a processor that has not yet been launched on the market. We are talking about the Intel Core i9-13900K that has just reached 8,000 MHz, returning to figures that have not been seen since the days of the Intel Celeron D of the AMD FX-8000.

The record has been published by Wccftech using a motherboard with Z790 chipset not yet available on the market, although they assure that it is a very high-end model. They have used liquid nitrogen for refrigeration, and a voltage very aggressive 1,792 v for the Core i9-13900K.

They assure that the overclocker in charge of reaching 8,000 MHz has commented that this will be the frequency from which many overclockers will start, so much higher results may be seen as these 13th generation Raptor Lake processors begin to arrive on the market and professional overclockers can get their hands on one.

For the final consumer, this type of overclocking is not usually of much interest, but there is no doubt that it raises hopes for lovers of domestic overclocking in order to achieve performance gains (not so spectacular naturally) with more moderate overclocks.
