Nothing less than 436 iphone have been stolen of one apple store from Washington, in the United States, through A hole made in a bathroom coffee shop which is right next door.
Today the iPhone is the most coveted technological device, and is sold at store price on the black market. They are perfect for stealing: they take up little space, are expensive, and sell effortlessly.
We have already seen a few robberies in the apple storesincluding the violent assault on an Apple store in Amsterdam, where the thieves even took hostages.
He heist this week has been much more peaceful… and also much more planned. According to the local press, two individuals they took 436 iphone of one of the apple stores of Washington, making a butron (a hole in the wall), in the bathroom of the coffee shop Seattle Coffee Gear which is right next to it:
The thieves locked themselves in the store’s bathroom, and waited for it to close. Then they made a hole in the wall big enough for a person to fit, circumventing the security measures of the apple store.
Mobile phones were taken for an estimated price of $500,000. The thieves knew what they were doing, because the hole was right in the area where there were no pipes.
It is never clear to what extent these types of thefts are beneficial to the thieves. Apple can block stolen phones remotely and render them useless.
The question is whether the criminals have found a way to break this blockade, or they plan to use them for scams, casting useless iPhones as operatives. Or they are satisfied with disassembling them and taking advantage of their components.
It is inevitable: if something is very valuable and coveted, the thieves they’re going to want to seize it.
He heist of 436 iPhones in one apple store through the procedure of butronmaking a hole in a coffee shop adjacent, is a new method that until now we had not seen, beyond banks and jewelry stores. Will criminals be able to take advantage of them, or will Apple disable them in time?
