A GitHub user has uploaded a new google chrome extension that arrives for solve the huge public image problem that Twitter has created for itselfand it is that although until now the verification mark served to know if we were facing a relevant public figure, as opposed to a parody, imitation or counterfeit, Now it is no longer the case.
Just yesterday we were talking about a possible attempt by Twitter to solve this problem, which was finally withdrawn just as we were writing the news about it, so It is currently impossible to tell a verified account from a Twitter Blue account at a glance.something that makes the check mark useless.
This new extension for Google Chrome changes the way these verification marks work, changing the icon itself and placing a text next to it that allows us to understand directly if it is a verified user on its own merits or if it is simply a user who has paid Twitter Blue and pretends to be someone famous or relevant.
As we have seen in recent days, between Elon Musk’s childish behavior and the absence of a useful check mark, this extension may be a good alternative while Twitter finds a way to solve this mess, either with icons of different colors or with a bet similar to the one we see here.
