Officers from the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Service (ICE, for its acronym in English) found 73 immigrants, including children, in various hiding places in Washington DC, in what they consider to be part of a human trafficking network.
The “hide houses,” the researchers told abcnewswere found mostly northwest of Washington, the official confirmed.
“Our goal is to identify, disrupt and dismantle significant Transnational Criminal Organizations (TCOs) involved in human smuggling,” an ICE spokesperson said.
Immigration agents also found $95,000 and a small amount of cocaine in the stash houses during the raid, according to NBC.

Exactly one week ago, Washington Mayor Muriel Bowser sent a letter to the White House asking for help from the National Guard for what he called “a humanitarian crisis” due to the massive influx of immigrants who have been sent from Texas and Arizona after entering the US through the border with Mexico.
Mayor Bowser blamed Governors Greg Abbott and Doug Ducey of Texas and Arizona, respectively, for sending immigrants to DC.
“DC is experiencing a fraction of the disastrous impact that the border crisis has caused in Texas,” Governor Abbott said Thursday.
The arrival of immigrants irregularly across the southern US border has reached record levels, according to reports from the Border Patrol.
