We have an interesting piece of news related to the history of Nintendo, since after the popular belief that the company was initially dedicated to different activities, including a Love Hotels service, new research suggests that the latter could be a simple urban legend.
As you will surely remember, Nintendo is a company with more than 130 years of existence, during which time it has participated in the creation of Hanafuda cards, a taxi service and also in establishments such as Love Hotels, or at least that is what is believed .
However, and despite the fact that it is confirmed that Nintendo tried its luck in various types of businesses over the years, an investigation ensures that the love hotels (which we assume we do not have to explain) may be false information.
Here you can see it:
The author researched 20 Japanese books about Nintendo’s history and none of them mention love hotels either. The earliest mention seems to be from David Sheff’s ‘Game Over’, which they conclude is an unreliable source. I’d love to read a full translation of this piece lol

As you could see, the data was shared by the Twitter user Akfamilyhome, who stated that it is almost impossible to unearth something that connects Nintendo with the mentioned business area, since he went through around 20 Nintendo history books to find any information about the Love Hotels, but without achieving anything relevant.

In addition, another important point in the investigation is that the user says that none of Nintendo’s financial documents, which were published after 1962, mention these establishments.
Because of this, the belief that the company was involved in the love hotels could just be an urban legend, unless Nintendo has gone to great lengths to erase evidence of that time of its existence.
Doubts are in the air and only the main heads of the company are the ones who fully know the truth on this subject.
