In the last weeks, DOOM It’s been at the top of our news feed, but not necessarily because id Software or Bethesda Softworks have announced something exciting. In fact, it has been the community that has put it on everyone’s lips by taking its original delivery to places we never imagined. Now the classic FPS of John Romero and John Carmack has reached a place we never imagined: an electricity meter of the Federal Electricity Commission of Mexico (CFE).
It turns out that in the last few hours something really epic has gone viral: according to what is said on social networks, a Mexican managed to DOOM ran on a light meter of the Federal Electricity Commission of Mexico. The only proof of this feat is in a photograph in which we can see the Doomguy’s hand shooting an enemy from the levels of DOOM.

It is worth mentioning that the CFE meter is far from being the most powerful hardware in the world. Its mission is only to record the number of kilowatts consumed by the electrical devices used in your home, so it is a weak device with a screen that looks like an old calculator. In fact, the version that was used seems to be ZDOOMwhich has been used to bring the game to calculators.
Unfortunately there is no more information about this story and, although we have investigated, we have not really found its origin. It is possible that it is an image edited to make us think that it is possible to run DOOM on a light meter or maybe someone was actually willing to risk being fined in order to impress the Internet.
In fact, we must recognize that, if it is real, the individual responsible for this remains completely anonymous when he could take the applause of the entire Internet. For this reason, we recommend that you take it with a grain of salt and see it as a funny story. If we ever learn more about the guy who apparently managed to run DOOM in a CFE meter we will let you know.

DOOM runs on (almost) everything
It is well known in the gaming community that it is possible to make DOOM run on practically anything. This is why a story like that of DOOM in a CFE meter is not entirely unreasonable.
We remind you that a few weeks ago a subject managed to make DOOM can run on a LEGO block. As if that weren’t crazy enough, soon after someone shocked the world by making DOOM can run in it DOOM. There are dozens of examples like these and it is quite a meme within the community.
