"They are an act of harassment and economic coercion"

June 20 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Chinese authorities have condemned this Thursday the latest package of sanctions imposed by the Chinese Government against companies from the Asian giant for allegedly providing aid to Russia in the context of the invasion of Ukraine.

The spokesperson for the Ministry of Commerce, He Yadong, has described these latest actions as a “simple act of harassment and economic coercion” against Beijing and has assured that these measures have no basis in the framework of International Law. “Nor do they fall within the mandate of the UN Security Council,” he said.

Likewise, he has insisted that the United States “must immediately end the irrational repression exercised against Chinese companies”, which he unfairly accuses of being involved in actions that they are not committing, according to the state news agency Xinhua.

In this sense, he assured that China will take “all necessary measures to resolutely safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese companies” a week after Washington announced new measures against Russia, which also affect those Chinese companies that ship semiconductors. to Russian territory.
