The consulting firm Sapiens Research published the result of the U-Sapiens Ranking that corresponds to the first half of the year and which also evaluates the best universities nationwide according to research indicators.

For this edition, the National University remained in first position, obtaining a score of 125, as did the University of Antioquia that did not move position, occupying second place in the ranking, with a rating of 105.
Now, one of the aspects to highlight is the return to box number three of the Universidad de Los Andes. According to Sapiens, The last time he held this position was in the second half of 2016. Now, with it returned he obtained a score of 65.

For fourth place was the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, which rose to this place with a score of 60. While the Universidad del Valle reached position five.with a classification of 60 points as well, which led to her dropping position.
According to what the firm said, of the 71 classified institutions, the offer of postgraduate courses has decreased in the last edition, that is, In the second half of 2023, 2,245 master’s degrees and 334 doctorates were being offered. While on this occasion the supply decreased by 3% and 4%, respectively.

“The high cost of tuition, an economy in crisis, and the little extra salary that obtaining some of these degrees gives compared to the cost of living in the country will continue to cause postgraduate courses to be closed. and that HEIs look for other training alternatives, with competition from abroad that offer these or similar postgraduate courses at lower costs and in half the time, whether in person or virtual,” highlights Sapiens.

Broadly speaking, of all the HEIs studied, 19 rose in position, between one and nine spaces, strictly speaking, to increase its offer of postgraduate degrees (master’s degrees or equivalent, and doctorates). Of these, eighteen are from the private sector and eleven are from Bogotá.
According to data those that climbed the most were the University of Health Sciences (Bogotá), which rose 6 places, followed by the Central University (Bogotá) which increased by four places. Also, there is the Universidad Externado de Colombia (Bogotá), which rose three places and the Universidad Libre (Barranquilla) with three more.
