There is, Pacma or Izquierda Española: the other parties that aspire to enter the European Parliament

The single state constituency in which Sunday’s European elections will be played represents hope for political formations that consider themselves punished by the provincial system for the rest of the elections. In the elections of this 9J, Spain distributes 61 of the 720 deputies of the new European Parliament. These are two more than the country’s share until now. But the distribution of seats will depend on participation. In 2019, 22,209,330 Spaniards voted, 60.7% of the total. After Brexit, Spain had 59 representatives and, in that scenario, each seat cost the parties close to 370,000 votes.

Waiting to know the necessary threshold to achieve representation in the new European Parliament, groups such as Existen, Pacma, Recortes Cero, Izquierda Española, Frente Obrero or ‘The party is over’ aspire to enter the community chamber for the first time.
