Producer Sam McAlister believes the British public would not accept the controversial royal returning to official duties after his damning interview with Newsnight.

And he says that while some believe justice will not be served until he goes through a criminal process, the court of public opinion remains firm.

“It is very difficult to achieve justice without a criminal process. The standard of proof beyond a reasonable doubt is different.

“But in the court of public opinion where Prince Andrew He was tried on Newsnight. I think the public drew their own conclusions and that really, in a sense, is sometimes the only kind of justice someone can receive.

“I don’t know if it will be taken to criminal court. It seems that journalism, although it is a wonderful thing, many people feel that unless there is a criminal case, there has not been the right process.

And he says the public has been hugely supportive of his work.

She said: “I feel like people can tell the difference between their interview technique, which obviously didn’t go well, and our work, and I’ve been very lucky because people have been nothing but kind to me.
