Xiaomi has unveiled its new tablet with a larger screen, less thickness and better battery than the previous one. This is the Pad 5 Pro 12.4″.
Yesterday was the day chosen by the company to present its new products, one day after Samsung’s Unpacked event. Xiaomi presented the Mix Fold 2, a terminal that rivals Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold4, in addition to the Buds 4 Pro wireless headphones. The other device that was missing was the Pad 5 Pro 12.4″ tableta renewed proposal of the already existing Pad 5 with 11″ screen.
The changes are clear with respect to the 11″ Pro version: larger screen, more battery, less thickness and better cameras, although there is also some downgrade. The Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro 12.4″ houses an IPS panel with a 2560×1600 resolution that works at 120 Hz and supports Dolby Vision and HDR10 thanks to its 500 nits of brightness. The panel is 8-bit while the previous version was 10 -bit The frequency of the touch panel has been lowered to 120 Hz, although the 240 Hz of the stylus is maintained.
The changes compared to the Pad 5 Pro 11 “are more battery, less thickness, worse screen and more RAM and storage options. In addition, it loses 5G.
The processor is still Snapdragon 870 but now it will come in three different configurations: 6/128, 8/256 and 12/512GBall of them with UFS 3.1. The battery increases to 10,000 mAh, an important change that, although it is mainly due to the increase in size, it must be remembered that the thickness is less than before, going from 6.9 to 6.66 mm. 67W fast charging allows you to charge from 0 to 60% in 36 minutes, and to 100% in 68 minutes. Something to note is that it does not have 5G despite the fact that the SoC does allow it, so it loses this capacity compared to the 11″ version and we will only have a WiFi version.
The Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro 12.4″ It has 2 rear cameras and one front. The rear ones form a 50+2 MP while the front one is 20 MP (Sony IMX596). Through USB-C you can connect an external display or a keyboard, but these devices will have to be purchased separately. The same way, the stylus does not come standard and you have to buy it separately, and it has 4096 pressure levels.
