The world’s first flying car was certified: these are its details

The company Alef Aeronautics announced the authorization to fly in the first phase of its new flying car: he Model A.

According to his president, Jim Dukhovny, the vehicle received special airworthiness certification from the United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

In this way, the Model A became the first flying car to be approved by any aviation authority in the world; an achievement achieved after eight years of work by Alef.

This ambitious project began in the year 2015, when the company set itself the goal of creating a car that could fly.

In 2016, Alef already had a subscale prototype, designed to solve various aspects such as takeoff, landing and affordability.

With the prototype ready, all that remained was to find an investor who was interested in financing the construction of the real model. It was at that time that Tim Draper, a venture capitalist who had been an investor in the Tesla automaker, appeared.

In this way, Alef was able to give life to his Model A, which has a driving range of 200 miles and a flight range of 110 miles.

If the project has the final approval of the US air authorities, this vehicle would go on the market at the end of 2025. However, the pre-sale is already available from October 2022. A unit of this vehicle is valued at 300,000 dollars (more than 1,250 million pesos).

A place on the waiting list can be reserved for 150 dollars; however, if a customer is willing to have it faster, he will most likely get priority service if he puts $1,500 on the table.
