The website of the Government of Japan suffers a cyberattack claimed by a pro-Russian group

Sep. 6 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The website of the Government of Japan has suffered a cyber attack on Tuesday confirmed by the Japanese authorities and that has later been claimed by a group of pro-Russian hackers.

According to the National Center for Incident Preparedness and Strategy for Cybersecurity, the government website suffered an attack around 4:30 p.m. (local time), interrupting its service for several hours.

Later, the group of hackers Killnet, related to Russia, has published a message on the Telegram social network where they claim responsibility for the cyberattack, as reported by the Japanese news agency Kyodo.

In addition to the Government’s website, the group of ‘hackers’ has also caused the saturation of the local tax portal, in charge of the Ministry of the Interior and Communications.

The attack suffered is a DDoS, usually aimed at companies and organizations that offer services over the Internet, and in which the attackers send numerous requests to a website to exceed its capacity and prevent its operation.
