May 25. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The waves have caused the detachment of part of the floating dock built by the US Armed Forces on the coast of the Gaza Strip to facilitate the arrival of humanitarian aid.

“Part of the American dock has reached the coast of Ashdod,” Israeli television Channel 12 reported, referring to an Israeli city located immediately north of the Gaza Strip.

The Israeli Navy is already working to reconnect the separated parts, according to these sources, who highlight that there have been no injuries due to this incident.

Meanwhile, the newspaper ‘The Times of Israel’ has reported, citing eyewitnesses, that one of the American ships used to disembark humanitarian aid in the area has run aground on the beach of Ashdod.

A second ship sent to help unground the first would have also been trapped after making landfall, always according to ‘The Times of Israel’, since at the moment there is no official information on the matter.

The floating dock was completed in mid-May by US authorities, although humanitarian organizations have warned that its capacity is insufficient and that the land crossings would need to be reopened to facilitate the arrival of aid via trucks.
