A telegram channel affiliated with the Wagner Group has published a video where you can see the brutal murder of Dmitriy Yakushchenko (Crimea, 1978) by means of a hammer blow to the head. Yakushchenko joined Wagner after being cwavy to 19 years in prison for robbery and murder and saw his chance for release in the group of mercenaries. However, he had become a deserter.
Within four days of joining Wagner, Yakushchenko left the paramilitary organization and he went over to the Ukrainian side. Soldiers from the Wagner Group searched for him until they captured him. During his captivity, he gave an interview to mercenaries working for Russia and confessed that his initial plan when he enlisted in Wagner’s ranks was to betray them.
He also expressed his wish that Crimea returned to be controlled by Ukraineas well as the hope that it would maintain its independence and that Russia would not win the war.

After these words, Yakushchenko has been executed. In the video, published by Gray Zone, you can see how a soldier violently hits him in the head, causing his instant death. It is a highly sensitive content.

Murders and torture
Yakushchenko’s fate has been the same as Evgeny Nuzhin, another defector from the Wagner Group who allegedly fell ill, first in kyiv, then in Dnipro, and finally in a Wagner cellar where he was put on trial and executed. Gray Zone was also the Telegram channel that published that murder, carried out identical shape.
At first, the video shows clips of Yakushchenko telling his story. The description of the video indicates that those parts were filmed while in captivity in Ukraine.
Yakushchenko, dressed in a camouflage uniform with a blanket wrapped around his shoulders, says that before joining Wagner he had been sentenced to 19 years in prison and that He was serving his punishment in the city of Engels, in Russia.. After being recruited by PMC Wagner for the war, he was sent to the front.
“Obviously, they have taken Crimea for now, but this may change. In a year, maybe two, it may be returned to Ukraine. I grew up in UkraineI was released in Russia and I just thought, ‘Well, fuck it, I don’t need Russia,'” he says.
