The US will send Ukraine another 1.3 billion dollars in military equipment

The United States continues to show Ukraine its support to combat the Russian invasion that began almost 17 months ago. Beyond the usual declarations, both at home and in international forums, the country led by Joe Biden maintains its assistance, especially in the military field. An effort that he has announced that he will redouble in the coming weeks, adding warfare capacity worth 1.3 billion dollars.

Thus, in a statement, the US Department of Defense announced on Wednesday a new security assistance package that includes “critical air defense and munitions capabilities”, aimed at supporting the war effort “in the short term and at the same time developing the permanent ability of the Ukrainian Armed Forces to defend its territory and deter Russian aggression in the medium and long term”.

Among the goods to be provided by the United States are four NASAMS surface-to-air missile systems and their munitions, 152mm artillery ammunition, mine disposal equipment, TOW-type guided missiles, precision aerial munitions, 150 tactical vehicles for towing and transporting equipment, 50 tactical vehicles to recover equipment, port security equipment or secure tactical communications systems.
