The US expands the list of entities from China and other countries with trade restrictions one year after the invasion of Ukraine

In its latest response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the US Commerce Department on Friday added entities from China, Canada and France, among others, to its trade restriction target list.

The measures coincide with the first anniversary of the invasion of Moscow and are aimed at continuing “efforts to cut off Russia’s military and defense industrial base including low-tech consumer goods that Russia is trying to obtain to sustain the war effort.” “, the statement said.

Of the dozens of new additions to its list of trade restrictions, 79 were based in Russia, five in China and two in Canada. Three other entities are based in France, Luxembourg and the Netherlands.

Companies included in the list have restricted access to goods and technology of US origin.

The Commerce Department also issued new export restrictions on Friday targeting Russia’s use of Iranian-made drones in Ukraine.
