The US Army announced on Tuesday the death of an Islamic State leader, identified as Khalid Ayyd Ahmad al Jabouri, in an attack in Syria.

According to a statement from the United States Central Command (CENTCOM), the jihadist was responsible for planning attacks by the Islamic State in Europe and was responsible for developing the hierarchical structure of the group, whose foreign operations are now paralyzed for a while, have assured the americans.

General Michael Kurill, in charge of CENTCOM in the area, has confirmed his death and explained that “Islamic State still poses a danger to the region, although degraded, the group was still capable of carrying out operations in the region, and had a desire to operate outside of the Middle East.”
