The United States Government announced this Monday a new military aid package to Ukraine valued at 400 million dollars (about 370 million euros) and that includes ammunition, military equipment and weapons, coinciding with the trip to kyiv of the Secretary of Defense American, Lloyd Austin.
Washington will thus send ammunition for HIMARS rocket launchers, 155 and 105 millimeter artillery ammunition, M113 armored vehicles, optically tracked and wire-guided TOW missiles, AT-4 missiles, support for satellite communications, ammunition for manned weapons, small arms, grenades and training equipment, demolition equipment, and spare parts, maintenance and other auxiliary and field equipment.
“The United States is committed to supporting Ukraine with the equipment it needs to strengthen its position on the battlefield, defend itself against the Kremlin’s brutal aggression, and ensure a just and lasting peace. As President (Joe) Biden has made clear “The United States and the international coalition we have assembled will continue to support Ukraine,” reads a statement from the US State Department.
For his part, the Ukrainian present, Volodymyr Zelensky, who has thanked Austin for the package, has presented him with the “most important” defense priorities, including air defense capabilities, preparations for winter and the expansion of the use of weapons long-range attack against Russian military targets, as indicated through his profile on the social network X.
