The United Kingdom Foreign Minister, David Lammy, indicated this Saturday his “deep concern” at the recent attacks by the Israeli Army directed against health centers in Lebanon, especially in the south where four hospitals have already ceased operations due to the fighting. and the rest are completely saturated.

“Reports indicating that Israeli attacks have hit health facilities and support staff in Lebanon are deeply disturbing,” he said on his X social media account.

In a brief message, Lammy reminded the parties in conflict of their duty to respect International Humanitarian Law and assured that the “priority” of the British Government is to achieve “a ceasefire on both sides so that Israeli and Lebanese civilians can return to their homes.”

These words come hours after the Israeli Army bombed a mosque attached to a hospital in the Lebanese town of Bint Jbeil in the early hours of Saturday, wounding nine members of the medical staff.

At least four hospitals in southern Lebanon have already ceased operations due to the fighting and the rest are completely saturated, according to the Lebanese Ministry of Health.

The head of the Public Ambulance Service of Lebanon, Imad Akkawi, denounced this Saturday a “brutal Zionist aggression against hospitals and centers of the Islamic Health Authority in Beirut, its neighborhoods in the south and the south of the country”, which he described as ” war crime that requires severe measures.”

“The brutal crimes committed by the Zionist enemy against civilians, homes, hospitals, health centers and civil defense barracks in Lebanon are a flagrant and unprecedented violation of all international laws and the provisions of the Geneva Convention,” he added. in a statement collected by the official Lebanese agency, NNA.
