By Constanza Alcocer. A short flight of two hours and twenty minutes from Mexico City and Guadalajara and one hour and twenty-five minutes from Monterrey, the Texan city is the perfect place to take a few days off this summer. Famous among Mexicans for its great offer for the shoppingHouston has that and much more to offer to spend some incredible days, disconnecting from reality. Whether you go with your family, with your best friends or as a couple, there is something for every type of plane. Below I share some ideas to help you plan your itinerary.
WHERE TO EAT
Whether you’re visiting for a long or short time, I recommend thinking carefully about which restaurants you want to eat at. There are over 13,000 restaurants in Houston, with cuisines from over 70 countries and regions, so you’re sure to find several that you’ll want to try.
Postscript: A very Cosmo spot if there ever was one. Decorated in shades of pink, its menu offers classic American food. Another detail we love? Each position It has a bell that ensures a quick delivery of champagne to the table. So, or more glamorous?
Conservatory Gallery: Located in Uptown Houston, this new location is a three-story food hall that has a variety of 11 food and two bar options. It’s an ideal option for indecisive groups, as everyone will be able to eat to their liking.
End of August: This is the new restaurant from Chef Chris Williams and is located in The Iion, a technology complex in Midtown Houston. Its menu offers flavors of Southern, African and Central American cuisine.
TO DO
Yes, I know, one of your favorite things to do will probably be shopping, and believe me, I don’t blame you (because there are many options where to do it), but in addition, in Houston you can find a lot of museums of different types, I’ll tell you about some of the most distinctive ones:
Houston Museum of Natural Science: The Natural Science Museum has various exhibits and rooms, including those on Ancient Egypt, the butterfly house and the paleontology room.
Gandhi Eternal Museum of Houston: It was opened last year and is the first museum on the continent dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi. It is set to open on October 2, 2023, coinciding with Gandhi’s 154th birth anniversary.
Space Center Houston: Yes, the place where the control room is located, where the mission that took man to the Moon was supervised. You can visit this and much more related to space, astronaut training and missions to the Moon and Mars.
SPORTS
If you are a sports fan, let me tell you that Houston is a great place to enjoy them because they have professional teams in several sports such as basketball (Rockets), American football (Texans), men’s and women’s soccer (Dynamos and Dash) and baseball (Astros).
