The Armed Forces of Ukraine have affirmed this Tuesday that they have “liquidated” 850 Russian soldiers during the last day of fighting and have raised the total number of Russian soldiers killed since the start of the invasion to more than 127,000, a figure that contrasts with the provided by Moscow, which has not updated its casualty balance for weeks.

The General Staff of the Ukrainian Army has indicated in a message published on its official account on the Facebook social network that since the outbreak of the war on February 24, 2022, 127,500 Russian soldiers have been “liquidated”, while 3,201 tanks, 2,197 artillery systems and 221 Russian air defense systems have been destroyed.

Russia has not provided data on casualties in the conflict since September, when Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu confirmed the deaths of 5,937 soldiers. The Russian news portal Mediazona raises the total number of deaths to 12,538, figures that it considers “corroborated” through publicly available data.
