July 11 (EUROPA PRESS) –
Anas Haqqani, a senior Taliban official, has defended the social network Twitter over “other platforms” considering that “freedom of expression” and its “credibility” count among its advantages, days after the launch of Threads by Mark Zuckerberg.
“Twitter has two important advantages over other social networking platforms. The first privilege is freedom of expression and the second is the public nature and credibility of Twitter,” Haqqani said through his account on this same network.
Likewise, he has stressed that “Twitter does not have an intolerant policy like Meta”, without specifying what he is referring to, while stressing that “other platforms cannot replace it”.
Threads, Instagram’s ‘microblogging’ app, reached 100 million users after its launch last week, after which the platform said its “goal is not to replace Twitter” but to “create a public space for communities on Instagram that never embraced Twitter”.
