The Taliban ask Germany not to deport Afghans to other countries and to speak through "diplomatic channels"

June 7 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Taliban called on Germany this Friday not to proceed with the deportation of Afghan citizens to third countries and to address the situation “through diplomatic channels”, after the German Chancellor, Olaf Scholz, advocated resuming the deportations of ” criminals”, including to Syria, Afghanistan and other neighboring states.

“The Foreign Ministry of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan is analyzing the decision to deport Afghans from Germany and expresses its wish that both parties can address the matter through diplomatic channels,” said Afghan ministry spokesman Abdulqader Balji. .

Thus, he stated through a statement on his account on the social network X that Kabul “asks the German authorities to address the matter through normal consular interaction and an appropriate mechanism based on a bilateral agreement.”

Balji has stressed that the objective must be “to protect the rights of citizens so that Afghans do not face an uncertain fate under any pretext or that, against all established conventions, they are handed over to a third country.”

Scholz told the Bundestag on Thursday that “these criminals have no place here, even if they come from Syria and Afghanistan,” following the knife attack that took place last week in the town of Mannheim and left a police officer dead. and several injured.

“Those who celebrate or glorify terrorist acts must also be expelled, he said. According to the German newspaper ‘Die Welt’, the Ministry of the Interior is studying the possibility of putting this type of measures on the table and has contacted the authorities of countries near Afghanistan.

In this sense, Scholz stressed that deportation measures will be strengthened so that “anyone who kills a police officer is punished in the most severe way possible.” “In Germany there is no law of the jungle, and anyone who thinks otherwise will have a serious problem with our justice system,” concluded the German chancellor.
