The Taliban announced this Sunday the arrest of an alleged jihadist, considered the mastermind of the assassination of the governor of Balkh province, Mohamad Dawud Muzamal, who was killed in early March by an explosion recorded during a meeting in his office.
The detainee has been identified as Aynudin Mohamad, also the son of another alleged member of the Afghan affiliate of the Islamic State in the northern provinces of the country.
Members of the Balkh security forces indicated that the governor died due to the seriousness of his injuries after the explosion of an explosive device during a meeting in which administrative issues were discussed.
Likewise, Mohamad would have been involved in several attacks by the terrorist organization, such as the attack on the Tebayan cultural center in Mazar e Sharif or the attack on the Shiite mosque in Se Dukan, according to the Intelligence Services Directorate of the fundamentalist movement. who have announced the arrest in a video collected by Tolo News.
