The Sun releases a strong flare

Oct. 3 () –

The Sun emitted a strong flare on October 2, reaching its peak at 20:25 UTC. NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) captured an image of the event.

The solar flare is seen in the bright flare at the top right of the image, which shows a subset of extreme ultraviolet light that highlights the extremely hot material in the flares and is colored orange. reports NASA.

Solar flares are powerful bursts of energy. Solar flares and flares may affect radio communications, electrical power networks, navigation signals and pose hazards to spacecraft and astronauts.

This flare has been classified as an X1 flare. The X class denotes the most intense flashes, while the number provides more information about their strength.
