The Sudanese Armed Forces accuse the Ethiopian Army of executing a civilian and seven Sudanese soldiers

June 27. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Sudanese Armed Forces have accused the Ethiopian Army early Monday of executing a civilian and seven captive Sudanese soldiers and displaying their bodies in public.

“This treacherous act will not go unanswered, and it will respond to this cowardly behavior as it suits it because Sudanese blood is valuable,” the Sudanese Army promised in a statement and a video posted on social media, as reported by ‘Times of Sudan’.

For their part, the Ethiopian security forces have made no comment on the matter.

The tension between both countries has increased due to the offensive of the Ethiopian forces against the rebels of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Tigray (TPLF).

A “humanitarian truce” is currently in force, although both sides of the conflict in Ethiopia have accused each other of preventing the delivery of aid. The TPLF accuses Abiy of stirring up tensions since he came to power in April 2018, when he became the first Oromo to take office.
