One of the most anticipated productions for early 2025 is the television adaptation of Mahō Tsukai no Yakusoku (Promise of Wizard), based on the popular smartphone video game of the same name. This LIDEN FILMS production not only promises to captivate fans of the game, but also attract a wider audience with its intriguing narrative and talented creative team.
Last Tuesday, the team behind the anime released a video script that presents the main aspects of the story. Narrated by Atsushi Tamaru, who voices the character Arthur, the video also previews the opening theme song, “Year N,” performed by the band Mili.
Additionally, it was revealed that the ending theme, “Bokura wa Ai no Koishite Ikiru” (“We Live in Love with Love”), will be performed by the virtual teen idol duo LIP×LIP, composed of Yūjirō and Aizō, whose actors The voices are Kōki Uchiyama and Nobunaga Shimazaki, respectively. HoneyWorks, known for their work on multiple hit songs, is in charge of producing this track.
The direction of this long-awaited series is in the hands of Naoyuki Tatsuwa, known for his work in other notable works such as Gourmet Girl Graffiti.
The script and the supervision of the story are carried out by Nanami Higuchi, screenwriter of BEASTARSwhile Nozomi Nagatomo, who participated in A3! Season Autumn & Winteris responsible for character design. Shūji Katayama, recognized for his work in Overlordis in charge of musical composition under the Pony Canyon label.
Other notable members of the team include Akira Hashigami as key color artist, Minami Kasuga as art director, Kōji Yamakoshi as director of photography, and Mai Hasegawa as editor. For his part, Ryō Tanaka, who worked on Eternal Boysis the sound director.
The official premiere of the anime is scheduled for January 6, 2025 on the Tokyo MX channel at 10:00 pm local time, followed by broadcasts on BS-TBS and MBS. As an exclusive preview, it was announced that the first two episodes will be screened on December 10 at a special event at the Marunouchi Piccadilly cinema in Tokyo.
The original video game Promise of Wizard was released in November 2019 by the company Coly, Inc. This simulation game places the player in the role of a “sage”, a key figure who develops a group of wizards to face an annual disaster that threatens the world.
