The office of the president of South Korea, Yoon Suk Yeol, has rejected on Tuesday the accusations of the opposition Democratic Party against the first lady, Kim Keon Hee, who would play, according to the political formation, an indirect role in a case of business corruption.

Kwon Oh Soo, former director of Deutsch Motors, a distributor of BMW cars in South Korea, was sentenced last Friday to two years in prison, as well as a three-year suspension from office, for manipulating the prices of the shares of the company. company.

“In the course of the investigation and during the trial, dozens of people were investigated, but not a single one testified to having communicated or conspired with the first lady about the manipulation of the stock price,” he said in a statement, collected by Yonhap news agency.

The Seoul Central District Court that carried out the process claimed that Kwon and his accomplices had manipulated the market through some 3,000 fake trades, even though they only made about 89 million won (approximately €65,100) in profit.
