The Sims will celebrate their 25th anniversary the next February 4 and, to celebrate, Electronic Arts (EA) has announced the launch of free content for all players and the availability of special kits to execute builds and create characters.
The developer has explained in a streaming event that to “get fully involved” in the celebrations of the launch of this title, has proposed new free updates for The Sims 4 and The Sims FreePlay, as well as “many other fantastic news.”
Within the framework of this anniversary, a roadmap has been established that will begin this Thursday, January 16, and will extend until next February 25, with a surprise launch of which no further details have been given.

The company recalled that, recently, it has made other kits available to players, such as Kitsch Whims and Pajama Party, which “are full of bright colors and mid-century modern designs,” as well as “sophisticated” options for sleepwear and accessories.
EA has noted that on February 4, the Sims 4 will also receive an update that will include more than 70 new items for the entire gaming community, with new Create-a-Sim options, including two hairstyles for adults and three for babies, among others. This update will also feature new clothing and footwear.
On the other hand, a free limited-duration mission called Flash of the Past will be offered, included in Live mode and which will include rewards inspired by iconic items from the 2000s. Among them, a telephone, an alarm clock or an inflatable sofa.
Also on the day The Sims turns 25, the launch of The Sims FreePlay, a program that will feature special events and 25 days of in-game gifts. In addition, a new option will be launched to add improved lighting in the landscape and homes.
Other news prepared for this anniversary day are MySims: Sofa and Blanket Collection, which first came to Nintendo Switch and will now be implemented on PC. This will be on March 18 and it is now possible to preserve this experience through the EA application, Epic Games Store and Steam.
