The president of the French National Assembly (Lower House), Yael Braun-Pivet, suspended the plenary session this Tuesday after the deputy Sébastien Delogu, of the progressive formation France Insoumise (LFI), took out a Palestinian flag.

Deputies from Ecological Europe The Greens (EELV) and LFI have asked the government to take a more forceful position against the Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip, and environmentalists have even requested recognition of the Palestinian State, reports BFMTV.

After considering the responses by Prime Minister Gabriel Attal and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade, Fransk Riester, as unsatisfactory, deputy Delogu has shown a Palestinian flag, a gesture prohibited by the chamber’s regulations.
