The published trailer offers a look at some of the situations and characters that the public will encounter, in addition to the opening theme titled “Hyakkaryoran”, performed by Lilas Ikuta. Although she is widely known as “Ikura”, the vocalist of the famous group YOASOBI, this will be the Japanese singer’s debut as a soloist in an anime.

Lilas Ikuta also shared her impressions about her participation in the project and emphasized her enthusiasm for contributing to the universe of «Kusuriya no Hitorigoto»: “I felt first-hand the great impact that the first season had, so it is a great honor to have been selected to perform the opening theme of the second part of this production. “I was very excited to enter the world of ‘Kusuriya no Hitorigoto’ and I decided to capture that enthusiasm, along with my love for the story and its characters, in the creation of this song.”

The theme “Hyakkaryoran” seeks to capture the whimsical and charming essence of Maomao, the protagonist, in addition to transmitting the same sensations as the bright and luxurious atmosphere of the imperial harem and the mysteries that take place in it.

The successful artist also mentioned that she linked the experiences of Maomao, who discovers new landscapes and realities while facing unexpected and diverse situations, with her own experiences when writing the lyrics of the song. «I hope that the public can enjoy the world of the work along with the song. “I would be very happy if both the work and the theme receive a lot of love,” he concluded.
