“With the support of US government agencies, they promote destructive pseudo-theological ideas and justify violence against people,” the Russian Prosecutor General’s Office determined.
The Prosecutor General’s Office of Russia declared this Wednesday the activity in the country of the international organization is undesirable The Satanic Temple (The Temple of Satan or TST, in English), which is based in the USA.
According to the Russian organization, the TST was founded in 2012 by a group of graduates from Harvard University. The entity has 23 subsidiaries in America, as well as in Australia, Canada, Finland, Germany and other countries. In addition, it is specified that the total number of followers worldwide exceeds 10 million people.
The Russian Prosecutor’s Office emphasized that, although the founding documents of the Satanic Temple appear as objectives “the fight for justice and civil liberties, the education of humanity and all types of scientific research,” in reality the organization promotes a occult ideology and use satanic symbols “to discredit traditional spiritual and moral values.”
“With the support of US government agencies, they promote destructive pseudo-theological ideas and justify violence against people. The Satanic Temple actively supports participants in extremist and terrorist movements,” reads the statement from the Russian organization.
Likewise, it is indicated that the TST pronounces negatively on the special military operation in Ukraine and calls for overthrow of the Russian constitutional orderwhile its website provides data for fundraising for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
