The SAT reminds taxpayers of the deadline for payment of debts

“Individuals and legal entities that present debts determined by the authority or with self-determined debts (declarations) can request payment in installments of up to 36 installments, as well as a reduction of up to 100% of the fine and a reduction in the rate of surcharges,” explains the tax authority in a statement.

The SAT has already raised more than 14 million pesos

The SAT reports that From October 15 to 28, more than a thousand taxpayers from all over the country have benefited from these facilitieswhich are in force in accordance with the applicable regulations.

Through these actions, the tax institution recovered 14 million 213 thousand 14 additional pesos in this period.

Payments in installments

The taxpayer can choose between two modalities:

Payment in installments. The debt can be settled in up to 36 months, with an initial payment of at least 20% and a fixed interest rate, according to the chosen installments:

  • From 1 to 12 months the rate is 1.26%
  • From 13 to 24 months the rate is 1.53%
  • From 25 to 36 months the rate is 1.82%

deferred payment. With a down payment of at least 20%the taxpayer can choose when they want to settle the rest of the debt in a single payment, within a period of no more than 12 months.

Likewise, interested parties can request a reduction of up to 100% of the fine, depending on its age, as well as a reduction in the surcharge rate.

It is important that the taxpayer makes the payment of the non-reduced portion within the period granted for the benefits granted to take effect.

Not all cases are the same

The SAT invites taxpayers to schedule an appointment at cita.sat.gob.mx, click on Register appointment, choose the option “Debts and Fines” and go to the office on the chosen date and time to find out their debt and the payment facilities for which they are candidates.
