This morning They leaked the designs and specifications of the Samsung Galaxy Watch FE, and right now, Samsung just announce its official launch revealing all its details.
As we assumed, the Galaxy Watch “Fan Edition” is nothing more than a trimmed version with lower specifications of the current Galaxy Watch 6 that has a lower launch price.
It is only available with a size of 40 mm and a 1.2-inch screen integrated into a circular structure with thicker frames than the highest-end model. Its resolution is 396 x 396 pixels on its Super Amoled panel.
Offers monitoring of vital signs with the sensor “BioActive” from the Korean company, being capable of measuring pulse, sleep or physical activities. It includes an alert system to warn of irregular heart rhythms or pulse rates that are too high or low.
It also has the same electrocardiogram function that its older brothers have, all with the operating system Wear OS with Samsung’s own ONE UI Watch layer. This system, developed together with Google, also offers functions only compatible with the brand’s Galaxy phones, such as the camera controller (to take photographs and preview them), the Samsung Wallet payment system or the synchronization of alarms.
The Galaxy Watch FE is based on the Exynos W920 SoC 1.18 GHz dual-core along with 1.5 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage. It is powered by a 247 mAH battery and is water resistant with IP68 and submersible to 5 ATM (50 meters). Connectivity is 2.4 and 5 GHz WiFi, Bluetooth 5.3 and there will also be versions with LTE. Therefore, we have hardware more similar to the Galaxy Watch 5 than to the latest Watch 6.
Its price is 199 dollars in the US and it is expected that in Spain it will be around 199 euros when it arrives in the summer.
