The Russian Army confirmed this Monday the capture of the town of Nelepovka, located in the Donetsk region, in eastern Ukraine and next to the strategic city of Toretsk, in the crosshairs of Russian forces as they continue recording progress in the area.
“Units of the ‘Center’ group have liberated the settlement of Nelepovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic,” reads a statement from the Russian Ministry of Defense on its Telegram channel.
Russian troops have also managed to cause casualties and destroy equipment of up to eleven Ukrainian brigades in the towns of Kleban-Byk, Selidovo, Dzerzhinsk, Nikolaevka, Lysovka, Tsukurino, Sukhaya Balka, Druzhba and Shevchenko.
In this way, the Russian Army is at the gates of Toretsk, an important logistics center whose capture would facilitate increasing pressure against the city of Chasiv Yar, the scene of fighting for several months due to its strategic importance.
