The Russian ambassador to the US, Anatoli Antonov, criticizes Washington for his words about the attack on the Kremlin

May 4. (EUROPE PRESS) –

Russia’s ambassador to the United States, Anatoli Antonov, has criticized Washington for its position on the alleged attack on Russian President Vladimir Putin, which Moscow blames on Ukraine.

“We hoped that the administration would have the guts and dignity to condemn this terrorist act. (…) Today the United States is protecting Kiev’s criminals. Statements by senior officials that Kiev can choose how to defend itself are the textbook example of double standards, a policy of encouraging the Zelensky regime to attack the Russian Federation,” he criticized.

In a response to a question from the press, shared by the Embassy through its Telegram account, the Russian has harshly rebuked the theories suggesting that Russia could have faked the attack, calling them “blasphemies and deceit.”

It has also issued a notice to Ukraine, assuring that “Russia will respond when it considers it necessary”, and it will do so “in accordance with the assessments of the threat that Kiev posed to the leadership of our country”.

This Wednesday, the Secretary of State of the United States, Antony Blinken, had questioned the version of events in Moscow, stating that, “like everything that comes out of the Kremlin”, it is necessary to take it with caution.

The Kremlin denounced a drone attack, pointing to Ukraine as responsible, which has already denied responsibility, fearing that Moscow could use it as an excuse for future action.
