about @Uber_MEX it’s already ridiculous.
Now it turns out that they only give you the service if you pay in cash.
I’m not the only one that has happened to it.
It is evident that this service has declined terribly in recent years. pic.twitter.com/jdWjd2rR6U

Mobility applications such as Didi or Uber allow cash payments because, according to the official Uber page, they allow more people to use the app and, on the other hand, drivers receive the money instantly.
But drivers ask riders the question because when accepting a ride, they don’t know which payment method will be used. This is displayed once the destination is reached, as the option “receive cash” appears,
However, this has caused problems among users and we explain why this phenomenon occurs:
Why do Uber and Didi drivers prefer to get paid in cash?
José Barrón, a driver on both platforms, commented that this payment method is preferred for two reasons: “most operators prefer cash trips because supposedly that way they do not pay taxes or, at least, taxes are not deducted at that time.” mentioned.
From According to the official Uber page, drivers get to keep the cash they receive from riders, and they deduct the Service Fee from the total weekly earnings. This service fee varies by trip and application, and can range from 15% to 30% commission.
However, also mention that they should not pay any other fee on these trips, so drivers would be saving 8% VAT and 2.1% ISR. That is, almost 10% of the trip.
On the other hand, Barrón mentioned that the second reason is because drivers have cash to pay for gasoline.
Sandra S, also a host on both platforms, shared the same reasons as Barrón and added: “but the area also depends a lot, since if it is in a risky area we prefer to pay by card, for security reasons.”
On the other hand, users have reported that, on occasions, some drivers receive the cash but mark that the payment has not been completed, so they cannot use the application again until the amount is paid again.
@Uber_MEX #uber WHAT CAN I DO IF THE ABUSIVE DRIVER SAID THAT I DID NOT PAY WHEN I PAYED IN CASH AND WAS EVEN GIVEN A TIP? I cannot use your platform until I pay that $129.95 which I WILL NOT PAY AGAIN. @Uber_MEX pic.twitter.com/50p4caFB5N

Users can report this behavior in the app and this it is considered fraudulent conduct which may lead to account deactivation, depending on the severity of the conduct.
