The Prosecutor's Office requests a year and a half in prison for a former PSOE councilor in Madrid for alleged sexual abuse of a colleague

The Prosecutor’s Office requests a year and a half in prison for Chema Dávila, a former PSOE councilor in the Madrid City Council for alleged touching a party colleague, according to what has been announced The debate and they confirm to elDiario.es fiscal sources. The letter from the Prosecutor’s Office was presented when the “only yes is yes” law had already entered into force, although it qualifies the acts of sexual abuse because the alleged touching would have occurred when the previous Penal Code was in force.

Dávila was a councilor until May 2019. The facts under investigation date back to November of that year, when he was no longer a mayor but was secretary general of the PSOE of Madrid Centro. He resigned from that position after learning of the existence of the complaint and being called to testify before the Police. Madrid PSOE sources confirm that he was expelled from the party on December 13, 2021, when the judicial investigation was opened.

The investigations have been carried out in the Court of Instruction number 2 of Madrid. The trial is already pending in the criminal courts of Madrid, according to what legal sources have told Europa Press.
